Welcome to UrCommunity
UrCommunity Ltd is a Not-For-Profit, registered PBI charity with DGR status 1, aspiring to promote the rights of an appropriate standard of living for all Australians, regardless of gender, age or ethnicity as articulated in the UN Human Rights Declaration.
UrCommunity is building community as well as promoting self-sufficiency, food security and access to free mealsfor the disadvantaged. This will also be through a range of inter related projects aimed at ensuring greater participation, access, linkages and inclusiveness.
UrCommunity aims to reduce the financial barriers that prevent ordinary Australians from being able to achieve an appropriate standard of living. These activities will also assist to transition attitudes away from an economic transactional perspective towards a social integration perspective.
Tier 1: Immediate Assistance
Description: Provide $100 supermarket vouchers to individuals and families who qualify as being in need.
Objective: Offer immediate relief by ensuring that the most vulnerable have access to essential groceries, helping them meet their basic nutritional needs.
Tier 2: Nutritional Stability
Description: Establish community gardens where individuals can grow their own fruits and vegetables. Offer workshops on gardening, nutrition, and sustainable food practices.
Objective: Empower individuals with the skills and resources to grow their own food, reducing dependency on external food aid and promoting long-term food security.
Tier 3: Long-Term Food Security
Description: Once sufficient funds are secured, the charity will buy and operate community supermarkets. These supermarkets will provide food to those in need at just above cost, allowing them to cover operational expenses.
Objective: Provide consistent, affordable access to nutritious food while maintaining the sustainability of the service through cost recovery.

Seeking community support
Donations received are a commentary on the generosity of the community in allowing further extension of the model and support for the expansion of services.
UrCommunity is a Registered Charity and Not for Profit (NFP) with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) 1 status. We anticipate that individuals or others within the broader community may wish to provide support for the community business and its unique model, based on their own experience or through hearing about the model and its work via social networking or other means.
How do we use donated money?
The money donated to UrCommunity will continue to fund the cafés & hubs along with all the other programs that have or are being developed to support those who need it the most. It also assists us to continue providing training and work for our volunteer communities and encouraging conversations, workshops and inclusiveness on a daily basis. Every donation, no matter how small, has a massive impact on our ability to provide these much-needed services.
Any donations we receive will be placed in a designated trust account and utilised only for the operation of the model and extension of services.
Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible and a receipt will be issued for every donation received.
